‘Lupa’ - a flexible, space-defining object with an adaptable surface.
The gently curved form of this object harmoniously integrates into the space, and the transparent layers of its surface give it a graceful lightness. ‘Lupa’ plays with the interplay of light and shadow, creating a pleasant and calming atmosphere. The intensity of light can be effortlessly regulated by partially opening or closing the textile material. The playful interaction with our architectural environment is also a central design aspect of Lupa.

Developing ‘Lupa’
The so-called Lupa di mare (Italian for the she-wolf of the sea) is a lake fog that forms when a mass of warm, moist air flows over a sea surface with cold temperatures. The fog lies like a blanket over the sea in the morning, then flows onto the islands and glides over the mountains. This phenomenon serves as inspiration for ‘Lupa’.
Various designs were modeled in Rhino to shape and preserve the dimensions. These form and its dimensions serve as the basis for creating the knitting program for the final object.
With a view to resource-efficient production, it is important to keep the number of prototypes as low as possible and thus define the dimensions beforehand.
